Overview

Since 1994, Trans Canada Trail (TCT) has developed through the efforts of hundreds of thousands of volunteers and donors. We want to reach 100% connectivity of the Trail from coast to coast to coast by 2017, Canada's 150th Anniversary of Confederation and the Trail's 25th year. At 16,000 km (72%), the TCT is already the world's longest and grandest Trail, connecting over 1,000 communities and providing journeys of discovery in urban, rural and wilderness settings. Today 80% of Canadians live within 30 minutes of the Trail. It is easily accessible for active living - and it's free to use! Working in partnership with Parks Canada and International Mountain Bicycling Association Canada, we want to send 2 person Trail Care Crews to communities across the country to provide workshops that teach Canadians how to develop, build and maintain recreational trail and help create experiences for communities to use and enjoy their section of the Trans Canada Trail.

How will the $100K be used?

$ 30,000 50% of Trail Care Crew salary and benefits (2 person crew)
$ 10,000 50% of Program Coordinator salary and benefits (part-time)
$ 40,000 50% of Crew operations budget (travel acccomm supplies)
$ 10,000 50% Promotion and marketing
$ 5,000 Maintenance and supplies for donated vehicle
$ 5,000 50% Training costs for Crew
